Terms of Service
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using the Acdc Appliance Repair referral line and this website. Please read them before you call. They include a section on resolving disputes through individual arbitration and a waiver of class actions, which affects your legal rights.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By calling our phone line, visiting this website, or using any part of our referral service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the referral line or the website. In these terms, "we," "us," and "our" mean Acdc Appliance Repair, and "you" means the person using the service.
2. What Our Service Is
Acdc Appliance Repair is a free referral and call-connection service. When you call, a dispatcher takes down the basics, such as the appliance, the symptom and your location, and then routes your call to an independent local appliance repair contractor who serves your area.
Please understand what that means:
- Acdc Appliance Repair is not an appliance repair contractor.
- We do not employ the technicians who come to your home or business.
- We do not perform, supervise, direct or control any diagnostic, repair, installation or maintenance work.
- We do not sell appliances or parts.
Our role ends once your call is connected. Everything about the job itself is between you and the contractor.
3. Independent Contractors
Every contractor reached through our line is an independent business. Each contractor:
- Sets its own prices, service call fees, labor rates and parts charges.
- Sets its own schedule, service area and arrival windows.
- Decides whether to accept a job.
- Offers its own parts and labor warranty terms, if any.
- Is solely responsible for its own work, employees, tools, vehicles and conduct.
When you hire a contractor, you are making an agreement directly with that contractor, not with Acdc Appliance Repair. You are responsible for deciding whether to hire a particular contractor. Before work starts, you are responsible for verifying that the contractor holds any license, permits and insurance required for the work in your area. Good questions to ask include whether the technician is licensed where your area requires it, whether the business carries liability insurance, and, for any sealed refrigerant system work, whether the technician holds EPA Section 608 certification. Ask for a written quote and the warranty terms before you agree to anything.
4. No Endorsement or Warranty of Contractor Work
Connecting you with a contractor is not a recommendation, endorsement or promise about that contractor. Acdc Appliance Repair does not warrant or guarantee any work performed, any parts installed, any diagnosis given, or any quote provided by a contractor. We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, safety, legality or cost of the work, or for any damage, injury, loss or dispute that arises from it. Any warranty on parts or labor comes only from the contractor, so get it in writing.
5. Pricing and Payment
Using the referral line is free. We do not charge you anything to call, to talk with a dispatcher, or to be connected with a contractor.
If you hire a contractor, you pay the contractor directly according to the terms you agree with it. The contractor should give you a written, upfront quote before any work starts, and you decide whether to go ahead. Acdc Appliance Repair does not collect payment for repairs, does not set prices, and is not a party to any payment dispute between you and a contractor. Our dispatchers cannot quote repair prices for a contractor.
6. Availability and Arrival Times
Our referral line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That does not mean a contractor is available at every hour in every location. Contractor availability, response times and arrival windows vary by area, time of day, season, weather, and the type of appliance and repair. Same-day visits are common when a local pro has an opening, but we do not promise any particular arrival time, and we cannot promise that a contractor will be available for every call. Any arrival window the dispatcher or contractor shares is an estimate.
7. Emergencies and Safety
Our referral line is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, act first and call us later:
- Gas smell. If you smell gas near a range, oven, dryer or water heater, leave the home right away. Do not flip switches, unplug appliances or use anything that could spark. From outside, call your gas utility or 911.
- Electrical fire or smoke. If an appliance is smoking, sparking or burning, get everyone out and call 911.
- Water flooding toward outlets or panels. Stay out of standing water near electrical equipment and call your utility or 911 if needed.
Once everyone is safe and the utility or fire department has cleared the area, you can call our line to be connected with a contractor for the repair. Do not attempt to open or repair an appliance yourself based on anything on this website. Appliances can hold dangerous voltage even when unplugged; a microwave high-voltage capacitor, for example, can hold a lethal charge.
8. TCPA and Communications Consent
We follow the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and related rules. When you call our line, you are starting the call, and you agree that we may use your phone number to route the call and connect you with an independent contractor. By calling, you also agree that the contractor who receives your call may contact you at that number about your service request.
We will only send you automated calls or text messages, such as callbacks after a dropped call, appointment reminders or follow-ups, if you have given consent. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you do not have to agree to receive automated calls or texts to use the referral line or hire a contractor. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text from us or by telling a dispatcher on any call. We keep an internal do-not-call list and will honor your request. Your carrier's message and data rates may apply.
9. Call Recording
Calls to and through our referral line may be recorded and monitored for quality assurance, dispatcher training, dispute resolution and fraud prevention. When a call is recorded, you will hear a notice at the start. By staying on the line after the notice, you consent to the recording. If you do not want to be recorded, you can say so or end the call. Our Privacy Policy explains how recordings are stored and used.
10. Acceptable Use of the Website and Phone Line
You agree to use the referral line and this website only for lawful purposes and only to seek appliance service. You agree not to:
- Make prank, harassing, threatening or abusive calls to our dispatchers or to contractors.
- Give false information, impersonate someone else, or request service for a property you have no right to arrange service for.
- Use automated tools to call the line, scrape the website, or collect information from it.
- Interfere with the website's operation, try to gain unauthorized access, or introduce malware.
- Use the service to generate false leads, commit fraud, or harm any contractor or other caller.
We may block numbers or restrict access for anyone who violates these rules.
11. Intellectual Property
The text, design, graphics, logos and other content on this website belong to Acdc Appliance Repair or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may view the website for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell or create works based on the content without our written permission. Appliance brand names mentioned on the site belong to their owners, and their mention does not mean those brands sponsor or endorse us.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The referral line and website are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Acdc Appliance Repair disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the line or the website will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted, or that information on the website is complete or current. General appliance information on the site is for background only and is not a diagnosis of your appliance.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Acdc Appliance Repair and its owners, employees and vendors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, property damage, personal injury or loss of data, arising from your use of the referral line or website or from any work performed by an independent contractor. Because the referral service is free, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars. Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Acdc Appliance Repair and its owners, employees and vendors from any claims, losses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorney fees, that arise from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the referral line or website, or any agreement or dispute between you and a contractor.
15. Resolving Disputes
This section covers disputes between you and Acdc Appliance Repair about the referral line or website. It does not cover disputes between you and a contractor, which you need to resolve with the contractor directly.
Informal resolution first. Most problems can be sorted out with a phone call. Before starting any formal claim, you agree to Call +1-855-636-0185, explain the problem, and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve it informally. We agree to do the same before starting a claim against you.
Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Acdc Appliance Repair agree to resolve it through final and binding arbitration instead of in court. Arbitration will be handled by an established, neutral arbitration provider under its consumer rules, before a single arbitrator. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could award. Arbitration may take place by phone, video, written submissions, or in person in the county where you live, whichever is reasonable for the claim.
Small claims carve-out. Either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration, as long as the claim qualifies and stays in that court.
Class action waiver. You and Acdc Appliance Repair agree that claims may only be brought on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of class or representative proceeding.
Opting out of arbitration. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by calling us within 30 days after you first use the referral line and telling the dispatcher you want to opt out of arbitration.
16. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the state in which Acdc Appliance Repair is organized, and by applicable federal law, including the Federal Arbitration Act for the arbitration section, without regard to conflict of law rules.
17. Severability
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms stay in effect, and the invalid part will be limited or removed only as much as needed. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court rather than in arbitration.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes apply to calls and website visits after the update is posted. Continuing to use the referral line or website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
19. Contact Us
Questions about these terms are best handled by phone. Our referral line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
